She was a member of St. Luke\u2019s United Methodist Church. She later came to reside in Excelsior Springs, MO, where she raised her children. Boo worked at the Elms Hotel until 1993 as a manager in housekeeping. After leaving the Elms, she went to work at Job Corps as a cook until she retired in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Boo loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. You could often find her sitting in her recliner watching Big Brother, The Amazing Race, Survivor, Big Bang Theory, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, and she never missed a chiefs game (especially if Travis Kelce was playing). She loved making her nightly \u201cgossip\u201d phone calls to her sisters and friends, and NEVER missed her 10:30 p.m. phone call to Squeek.<\/p>\n<p>Boo gained her wings on Monday, September 20, 2021 at St. Luke\u2019s Hospital on the Plaza.<\/p>\n<p>Boo is survived by her sons, Kurt Gantt of Chandler, AZ, Robert \u201cSqueek\u201d Gantt of Excelsior Springs, and Melvin Gantt of Excelsior Springs; sisters, Peggy Oliver of Kansas City, Mary Black (Robert) of Kansas City, and Lillian Stanton of Lexington; brother, Frederick \u201cChuck\u201d Gantt of Liberty; grandchildren, Remica, Raven (Dylan), Ramsey, Rakai, Kurt Jr., Nicholas, Mya, Shaquita, Toni, Anthony, and Kiana; great-grandchildren, Maverick, Emery, Tyla, Justin, Tristan, Chase, Kurmorra, K\u2019Lynn, Kaliyah, Kurrina, Ny\u2019Aliyah, Naelynn, Avianna, Trenton, and Braxden; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.<\/p>\n<p>She is preceded in death by her daughter, Leigh Ann Gantt; grandson, Rasheed \u201cBoobie\u201d Gantt; sisters, Shirley Burnside, June Kelley, and Marsha Grayson; and brothers, Marvin Gantt, Melvin Gantt, James Gantt, Jerome Gantt, Chester Gantt, John Gantt, and Michael Gantt.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Bross and Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, MO from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., with the funeral service to follow immediately after visitation.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>She was a smiling sweetie in the Job Corps Cafeteria. She\u2019s smiling right with Jesus now.
