{"id":8882,"date":"2021-05-31T19:26:38","date_gmt":"2021-05-31T19:26:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/?p=8882"},"modified":"2021-06-18T12:23:02","modified_gmt":"2021-06-18T12:23:02","slug":"florence-anna-davis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/2021\/05\/31\/florence-anna-davis\/","title":{"rendered":"Florence Anna Davis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-8892\" src=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/florence_ann_davis.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"259\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/florence_ann_davis.jpg 340w, https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/florence_ann_davis-300x229.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 340px) 100vw, 340px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Florence Anna Davis, 94, of Kearney, MO, changed her residence to the home that her Lord and Savior had prepared for her on 31 May 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Ann was born to Harry and Lucille (Ritchie) Beswick on 31 March 1927 in Kansas City, MO.\u00a0 One of four daughters, she grew up in the Kansas City area and was united in marriage to Robert &#8220;Bob&#8221; Davis on 16 November 1944.\u00a0 She was the proud mother of five children,\u00a0 Patrick, Harriett, Susan, Michael, and Barbara.<\/p>\n<p>Ann had two great loves during her lifetime \u2013 her Lord and Savior and his church being the first; the love of her family being her second.<\/p>\n<p>Ann served as a volunteer at City Union Mission in Kansas City for more than 30 years.\u00a0 Two of the things that she most enjoyed during that time was Tot Lot, the mission\u2019s camp in the Ozarks where she spent the whole month of July every summer, and helping choose and wrap gifts for families served by the mission at Christmas time.\u00a0 Ann also taught preschoolers in Sunday School every Sunday morning until she was well into her eighties, as well as teaching in Vacation Bible School each summer.\u00a0 She was an active member of Mt. Olivet Christian Church for many years.\u00a0 At the time of her death, she was a member of First Baptist Church, Kearney, MO.<\/p>\n<p>Ann served her family faithfully.\u00a0 In addition to five children, she had 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Embroidery work was a hobby that Ann enjoyed.\u00a0 She made cross-stitched baby quilts for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and for the children and grandchildren of many of her friends.\u00a0 She won many blue and red ribbons for her quilts at the Crawford (KS) county fair.<\/p>\n<p>Ann was preceded in death by her mother and father; two sisters, Katherine Hendrix and Clara Finley; her husband, Robert &#8220;Bob&#8221; Davis; two sons, Patrick and Michael; and two granddaughters, Melissa Henderson and Patricia Buckley.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by her three daughters, Harriett Davis, Kearney, MO, Susan Seykora (Peter), Owatonna, MN, and Barbara Lewis (Larry), Smithville, MO; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; and sister, Dora Frazier, Excelsior Springs, MO.<\/p>\n<p>A Celebration of Life will be held for Ann on Friday, 18 June 2021 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Christian Church, Smithville, MO.\u00a0 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Mount Olivet Christian Church, Smithville, MO, or to the Lottie Moon Offering at the International Mission Board, Richmond, Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements in care of Fry-Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>I loved working with Ann at camp and at the mission. When we worked at the Mission Christmas store together, she would make sure the kids got the best we had to offer. Her love and labor for kids was amazing! I will never forget the wonderful cookies she made.
