Michael attended Maple Valley Schools for the Severely Disabled. He received many Special Olympics awards, especially in bowling. He was employed at Ideal Industries Sheltered Workshop for 33 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Richmond. Michael was a dedicated Chiefs and Royals fan.<\/p>\n<p>Michael is survived by Stephen and Shirley James of Lawson; Roy Anderson of Spring Hill, Kans.; two brothers, Roy Adair of Richmond and David (Crystal) James of Lawson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Michael was preceded in death by Norman and Marie James, and Dorothy Anderson.<\/p>\n<p>There will be no service at this time due to the Corona virus. We will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements in care of Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>He will be sadly missed. You had so many friends and did not have a mean bone in your body. I remember when we took you to your first Chiefs game. You were so excited and thanked us for months afterwards. Your smile was contagious and your sweet personality will be missed. Fly high with the angels. You parents and siblings are in our prayers. I will truly miss his smile. So sorry for your loss.<br \/>\nDebbie Leabo<\/p>\n<p>My heart is so heavy.\u00a0 He was such a pleasant and caring person.\u00a0 He was never mean or spiteful to anyone.\u00a0 \u00a0I walked past his apartment many times a day and he would holler out from his couch &#8220;hi angel&#8221;\u00a0 and &#8220;how you doin?&#8221;\u00a0 He would sometimes greet me by his door with a fist bump and big smile.\u00a0 \u00a0He was so loved by us all and will be greatly missed.\u00a0 My sincerest condolences to the family.<br \/>\nChantel Dunwoodie<\/p>\n<p>Mike will be sadly missed by all of his extended family . Always happy . He would always go out of his way to say hi with a smile and he a quality that would cheer me\u00a0 up under any circumstance . He was truly a one of a kind . I have no doubt he is with Angel&#8217;s in heaven looking down at us wanting us to smile and not be sad that he left us so suddenly . It is hard to let go . But he is in a better place waiting for us all to meet again.<br \/>\nTim James<\/p>\n<p>This was very hard news to hear. Mikey was an amazing person. He was the most sweetest kind hearted person I knew. He could always put a smile on your face no matter what. Mikey always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by many and touched so many peoples hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones. I\u2019m very thankful for the times I had with him and the memories I will never forget like the time we took Mikey and the others fishing and for a BBQ at Ray County Lake Mikey had so much fun that day. I will forever have a special place in my heart for Mikey.<br \/>\nMarcie Outersky<\/p>\n<p>So sorry to hear of Mike\u2019s passing. He was always quick with a smile and kind words. My mother, Mary Louise Tanner, was Michael\u2019s teacher at State School 33 for many years. Until her passing, Michael asked about her every week. I am surely gonna miss him teasing me and him laughing about picking on me. Or his greeting &#8220;how ya doing?&#8221;.<br \/>\nThose days I&#8217;m gonna miss! He was one of a kind.!
