I regret not being able to spend more time with him after we left Stillwater, but I do cherish the time we were able to see each other and visit. Jack will be missed by his many Oklahoma friends and our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
A.L. Hutson

So sorry to hear about Jack. Will miss his friendly smile at breakfast.
Sheryl Godsy

I’ve been friends with Jack for 30 years. In that time, I have bought two houses from him, rented my last house from him and lived next door, shared birthdays, weddings, graduations, parties and the passing of friends and relatives. We watched sports and horse races together and just sat and talked. I will miss those talks. My heart goes out to Charlotte, who I never would have had the pleasure of knowing if it wasn’t for Jack. I knew the Jack before he married Charlotte and the Jack after they married and I have never seen true love change a person like I saw with Jack. She brought him joy and happiness like no other. She was by his side through the good and bad and he always would tell me what a lucky man he was. We are the lucky ones to have known you Jack. Rest in peace my friend. I will miss you.
JoAnn Rose

I only found out about Jack’s death 1 year ago. I am sorry I was not aware of his passing when it happened, I would surely have made the trip to his memorial from Michigan. Jack was a great friend and mentor, all of the horses I have owned I shared or bought/traded from Jack. I have never met a nicer person and he truly was the salt of the earth. I think about him from time to time and I miss talking to him, the world was a much better place when Jack was here.
Brad Bedell

Jack and I became close friends in the late 60’s. Thinking of Jack often, I recently called to find that he had passed away. I have so many fond memories of our early friendship and send my sincere belated condolences to Charlotte. Rest in peace my friend!
David Vaughn

January 16, 1945 – August 31, 2017 Samuel Jackson Barr Jr., 72, Kearney, Mo., passed away August 31, 2017.
