Family was everything to Linda.<\/p>\n
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Schlager (Jeffrey) of Kearney, MO, and her son, Travis Ardrey (Jennifer) of O\u2019Fallon, MO.\u00a0\u00a0In addition, she was \u201cNanny\u201d to seven grandchildren, Ashlee Dennis (Kel), Alisabeth Robinson (Eric), Austin Schlager (Madison), Allyson Schlager, Andrew Schlager, Jacob Ardrey, and Samuel Ardrey.<\/p>\n
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Wilford Lee Ardrey, her parents, and her three brothers, Donald Sapp, Gary Sapp, and Terry Sapp.<\/p>\n
Linda was a lifelong resident of Columbia.\u00a0\u00a0She spent nearly 39 years as the office manager for Dr. Leland Pfefer. Upon his retirement, she went on to manage the office of Dr. Jill Murphy. Linda was passionate about her work and always talked about her “wonderful patients\u201d who she considered family.<\/p>\n
Many years were spent traveling the U.S. with her husband. The family also loved spending time at their getaway at the Lake of the Ozarks.\u00a0\u00a0Linda was an excellent cook who spent hours in the kitchen preparing delicious meals for her family.\u00a0\u00a0In later years, Linda became quite an expert at designing and creating beautiful wreaths and other crafts.\u00a0\u00a0She also spent many nights as \u201cNanny Uber\u201d as she safely transported her grandchildren and their friends around Columbia while they were in college at Mizzou.<\/p>\n
Linda was always full of life and willing to help people in any way that she could. As per her wishes, cremation services will be carried out by Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, MO. A private family service will be held in the fall. Hugs.<\/p>\n
So sorry for your loss. Linda was a jewel to all who knew her.

I first met Linda at Dr. Pfefer\u2019s office where I was a patient. Over the years we became good friends and I was so sad for her when Lee died. She was such a loving , caring person and I treasure the time I had with her. Just last year when one of my Granddaughters (age 31) died suddenly Linda was one of the first people to call and console me. She was always there when I needed her. I know how much you will all miss her. My deepest sympathy to all of you. Bev Huckaba<\/p>\n

Each of you know how special my dear friend has been for many many years. Our friendship began in junior high at Jefferson Junior\u00a0 in Columbia.
\nThere was never a more devoted and deeply in love couple than Lee and Linda and that love never faded over the years. Linda lived for her family and the more she could do for them the happier she was. Linda would do anything in her power for her children and grandchildren and being a Nanny would just beam in her smile! She loved being Nanny Uber and she didn’t care what time the call came she was on duty for her babies making sure they got home safe!
\nOur Kewpie Girls are a tight group of women who have spent nearly 60 as friends and now we have an empty spot that is really hard to grasp\ud83d\ude2a\ud83d\ude2a.
\nOur Dear Sweet Linda, we are sad but we are also happy you and Lee are now reunited and that sparkle has returned to your beautiful eyes.
\nTake flight in paradise and embrace renewed health, happiness and a skip in your step. We Love You Dear Friend!!

Teresa and Travis, I loved your mother. She adored both of you and your families. We had such good times at the doctors office and I will never forget her. I remember you working there also Teresa. I am so sorry for your loss but know that she is with God now and won’t suffer anymore. God bless you and your families and know that your mother was truly loved by all who knew her.
