\"\"Jack E. Looney, 60, of Kearney, Mo., passed away suddenly on September 16, 2018.<\/p>\n

Jack was born in South Bend, Indiana on March 30, 1958 to Joseph G. and Mary E. Looney.\u00a0 He was the youngest of three children.\u00a0 He graduated from Parkville High School in May of 1976.\u00a0 He served in the United States Army from June 1976 to June 1979 where he was an aircraft mechanic.<\/p>\n

After his military service, he worked for several dealerships as a mechanic until he opened his own shop, J & K Auto Repair in Kearney in 1998.\u00a0 He owned and operated his business until his retirement in 2016.<\/p>\n

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his adored sister-in-law, Judy Looney.<\/p>\n

Jack is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kay; brother, Glen Looney; sister, Linda Sloan; nephew, Matt (Heather) Looney; nephew, Nathan (Kelly) Looney; nephew, Brian (Diane) Sloan; niece, Pam (Darrin) Hatcher (Spainhower); and niece, Shannon (Tim) Cunningham.<\/p>\n

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, September 20, 2018 with service immediately following at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Kearney, Mo.\u00a0 The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations to charity of choice. Please dress casual.<\/p>\n

Kay and Linda, I`m so sorry for your loss, I only met Jack a couple of times, but he was very nice and had a great sense of humor. I`m sure he is in heaven making a place for you and you will see him again one day! You have a lot of friends to help you through this time, don`t hesitate to call if you need something!

Kay, Linda and Bo, I\u2019m so sorry to hear that Jack passed away! Such a character he was … so full of life. I only wished I could\u2019ve seen him when I visited in the springtime. I will always have fond memories of our family reunions at Grandma and Grandpa\u2019s house. Love and prayers to all of you.
