Blancarte, 85, of Lawson, Mo., passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab Center.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Blancarte was born December 31, 1932 in Kansas City, Kans. He served in the U.S. Army\u00a0 for two years.\u00a0 He was employed by Armco Steel for 39 years before retirement. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Casildo and Ignacia Blancarte; his wife, Shirley; and children, Robert Blancarte and Cheryl McAninch. Also preceding Mr. Blancarte in death were seven brothers and three sisters.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Blancarte is survived by brother, Charles Alvarado; sister, Natie Anaya; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Donald DeShon; son-in-law, Bob McAninch; five grandchildren, Deanna Sealey, Clinton DeShon, Jennifer Segelke, Lauran Lavar and Justin Long; and eight grandchildren, Hannah, Luke, and Abby Sealey, Peyton Lavar, Paisley and Loran Lavar, and Morgan and Alexander DeShon.<\/p>\n<p>A celebration of life will be held from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a memorial from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Fry-Bross &amp; Spidle Chapel, 208 S. Jefferson, Kearney, Mo.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>It is with sadness that I learned today of the loss of a friend and classmate of the Wyandotte High School class of 1952. Sylvester&#8217;s friendship, smile and thoughtful kindness will be missed.
