Robert Allen “Bob” Stonum, born to Robert C. and Alma Roberts Stonum on November 3, 1939 near Lawson, Mo., passed on to his heavenly home on January 28, 2018.\u00a0 He spent his entire life in Ray County.\u00a0 He married Marian Akers in 1959.<\/p>\n
Bob spent 35 years in management and service with the Lawson MFA.\u00a0 He was also a volunteer fireman for sixteen years, serving as chief for many years.<\/p>\n
He was preceded in death by his parents.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his wife of the home; son, John (Denise) Stonum; daughter, Kathryn McQuerrey (Rick); grandchildren, Jeremy (Ashley) Stonum, Garrett Stonum, and Lindsey McQuerrey; great grandchildren, Corbin, Allen, Aurora, Kenlei, Vivian, Evie, Ava, and Ella; and step-grandchildren, Rick (Amanda) McQuerry II and Keri (Steve) Tjaden.<\/p>\n
Bob was a member of the United Christian and Presbyterian Church of Lawson, Lathrop Antique Club, and The Screaming Eagles Case Club.\u00a0 He was well known for his love and collection of Case tractors.<\/p>\n
Memorials may be addressed to the church, The Lathrop Antique Club or the Alzheimer\u2019s Association.<\/p>\n
A memorial visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Lawson Christian and Presbyterian Church, 305 East 4th<\/sup> St, Lawson, Mo., with memorial service immediately following.<\/p>\n Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n I just found out that Bob died last month. Many dear memories of days gone by on the farms and in the trucks. Marian,\u00a0 Marvin and I are so sadden to hear of Bob\u2019s passing. I sit and reflect on the many great memories of Bob at our tractor shows and rides. We had a lot of fun. He came to Marvin\u2019s rescue and helped him move his bolts\u2019 bins to our new location on the highway. He sat on that\u00a0 Bobcat so focused and intent as he loaded those bins and put them on our trailer. It was amazing to watch. You are in our thought and prayers.
