He was born on August<br \/>\n30, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to his parents, Peter F. Sohm and Ruth H. (Prost) Sohm.<\/p>\n<p>Chuck graduated from St. Michaels High School in Chicago. He then went on to further his education,<br \/>\ngraduating from DePaul University. In 1971, he married the love of his life and began his journey as a<br \/>\nhusband and father. Chuck was an insurance adjuster for many years, moving his family from Grand<br \/>\nJunction, MI, to Kearney, MO, in 1980. He was an active member of the Church of the Annunciation and<br \/>\na member of the Knights of Columbus. In 1986, Chuck decided to \u201croll the dice\u201d becoming a business<br \/>\nowner. He worked at his company, Midwest Game Supply until 2018, when his health just would not<br \/>\nallow him to anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Chuck is survived by his wife, Linda L. (Hosner) Sohm; his children, Dale L. Sohm and his wife Valerie<br \/>\nSohm, Drew T. Sohm, and Kimberly L. (Sohm) Adkins and her husband Paul A. Adkins; his grandchildren,<br \/>\nErick Sohm and his wife Stephanie (Walker) Sohm, Haillee Sohm, Courtney (Adkins) Lohkamp and her husband Joseph Lohkamp, Gabrielle Adkins, Collin Adkins, and Mia Adkins; SIX great grandchildren and<br \/>\nONE on the way; his sisters, Judy Sohm and Marge (Sohm) Sanford and her husband Richard Sanford; two<br \/>\nnieces, one nephew, and eight great nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Chuck was proceeded in death by his parents, Peter and Ruth Sohm, and countless relatives and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2024 followed by funeral Mass at Church of the Annunciation, 701 N. Jefferson St., Kearney, MO, mausoleum entombment at Resurrection North Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the <a href=\"https:\/\/act.alz.org\/site\/Donation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alzheimer\u2019s Association<\/a> to help<br \/>\ncontinue their important work in providing care, support, and accelerating research.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements in care of Fry-Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Chuck. I know these last several years were tough, but I also know that the good years were REALLY good &amp; that he loved you all dearly. Hopefully your good memories will help.<br \/>\nWayne &amp; I really enjoyed our years hanging out with Chuck at Osterhout Lake. He taught me how to power shift when I was 17. We all explored &#8220;haunted&#8221; houses together, along with lots of other mischief. He was a fun friend to be around. I know how he loved the Lord &amp; I&#8217;m sure he was welcomed with a smile &amp; hug.
