David Ray Shafer passed away December 5, 2023. David was born April 19, 1938, to parents Everett Ray Shafer and Mary Abby Criger Shafer. He was husband to Shelva Jean Shafer and loving grandfather of 11 and a great grandfather of two beautiful great grandchildren.<\/p>\n
David was preceded in death by son, David Ray Shafer, Jr.; daughter, Susan Kay Shafer; brothers, John and William; and daughter-in-law, Erin E. Shafer, wife of Aaron Shafer.<\/p>\n
David is survived by his sister, Ruth Ann Paugh; sons, Roger W. Wilson, eldest son, and wife, Shannon, of Lawson, Missouri, Aaron K. Shafer, of Lawson, Missouri, and Mark D. Shafer, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.<\/p>\n
A celebration of life will be held at Lawson Bible Church on December 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. followed by a light lunch.<\/p>\n
