{"id":1429,"date":"2017-12-03T15:39:31","date_gmt":"2017-12-03T15:39:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/?p=1429"},"modified":"2018-10-13T00:39:08","modified_gmt":"2018-10-13T00:39:08","slug":"linda-lee-riegel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/2017\/12\/03\/linda-lee-riegel\/","title":{"rendered":"Linda Lee Riegel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1432 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/l_riegel.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/l_riegel.jpg 260w, https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/l_riegel-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 260px) 100vw, 260px\" \/>Linda Lee Riegel, 73, went to be with the Lord on December 3, 2017, after a four-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis.<\/p>\n<p>Linda was born on October 7, 1944, in Marinette, Wisconsin, the daughter of Orlena Ruth Krei and Sentinal George Cooper, and she was the third of seven daughters.\u00a0 She was united in marriage to Larry Charles Riegel on October 15, 1966.<\/p>\n<p>Linda is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry, and three children, son, Mark (Nicole) Riegel of Excelsior Springs, daughter, Amie (Chris) Donaldson of Leawood, and daughter, April (Scott) Craven of Excelsior Springs.\u00a0 She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Megan and Garrett Riegel, Owen, Ian and Finn Donaldson, and Madeline, Emma and Trent Craven.<\/p>\n<p>Linda grew up in Marinette, Wisconsin. She loved to return there, visit her sisters and the Bay.\u00a0 She met Larry in Marinette, where he was stationed during the Vietnam War.\u00a0 After they married and Larry left the service, they moved to Kansas City where they had their first child, Mark, in 1969.\u00a0 The family moved to Colorado for a short time before returning to the Kansas City area where they had their two daughters, Amie, in 1973, and April, in 1976.\u00a0 They lived in Kearney and Holt for a time before moving to Marshfield, Mo.\u00a0 During that time Linda and Larry owned and operated a shoe store on the square in Marshfield.\u00a0 Mark graduated high school in Marshfield and then the family moved to Excelsior Springs where Amie and April graduated high school.<\/p>\n<p>Linda loved children. She was a loving daycare provider for many children over the years and was always known as \u201cMiss Linda.\u201d Linda was a devout Christian who had a passion for reading and studying the Bible.\u00a0 It was important to her to witness and share her faith with others. She had a wonderful singing voice and loved to sing in church.\u00a0 She was very creative \u2013 sewing, painting, making jewelry, and crafting of any sort. She was very generous, sharing the fruits of her labor.<\/p>\n<p>Services will be Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Chandler Baptist Church, Highway 33, Liberty, Mo. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., with the funeral following.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements are through Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>Riegel family, we are so sorry for the loss of your beloved Linda.
