{"id":1371,"date":"2017-11-20T16:20:35","date_gmt":"2017-11-20T16:20:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/?p=1371"},"modified":"2018-10-13T00:40:09","modified_gmt":"2018-10-13T00:40:09","slug":"stephen-lewis-pate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/2017\/11\/20\/stephen-lewis-pate\/","title":{"rendered":"Stephen Lewis Pate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1373 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/s_pate.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/s_pate.jpg 300w, https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/s_pate-264x300.jpg 264w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Stephen Lewis Pate 68 of Excelsior Springs, surrounded by loved ones passed on Monday November 20,2017.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen was born on July 26,1949 to Charles Nolan Pate and <a href=\"https:\/\/mail.aol.com\/webmail-std\/en-us\/suite#aolmail_\">Ila<\/a> &#8220;Fern&#8221; (Zirjacks) Pate Arbuckle.\u00a0 He married Sandra Obermeier on May 30, 1970.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army from 1967-1970.\u00a0 He worked for Guy&#8217;s Chips and, as their union rep for over 28 years, he later worked for Ozburn-Hessey.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles &#8220;David&#8221; Pate, and one sister, Martha (Pate) Burnett.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandy, and two children,\u00a0 daughter, LeAnn Pate, and son, Christopher (Alison) Pate of Lee&#8217;s Summit.\u00a0 He was known as Papaw to granddaughters, Felisha (Adam) Summers, RayAnne (Lance Shouse) McCubbin, Hailey and Sarah Pate; grandson, Benjamin Pate; great\u00a0granddaughter, Marlee Summers; sisters, Charla (Max) Caurthers, Susan (Ron) Hill, Elaine (Gary) Gardener; and sister-in-law, Renna Pate.\u00a0 He had many nieces, nephews and cousins.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2017, with memorial service following at Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo.\u00a0 Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, Mo.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu\u00a0of flowers please make donations to St. Jude&#8217;s\u00a0Children&#8217;s Hospital.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>Sorry for your loss!
