Robert worked for AT&T his whole adult life. He retired and dove into retirement full force spending his days fishing and going to auctions. He was a master of planning and being dedicated to his goals. His retirement proved this as he started many new passions including training his labs to be the best bird dogs, blacksmithing, and bee keeping. With each of these things he studied and learned as much as he could and mastered them. He was always excited to share and mentor others with his knowledge and experience. Anyone who knew him knew he loved to fish, just about as much as he loved to tell you a good fish story! If you wanted to see and hear him light up, ask him about Dantin or his grandkids.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elmore; his daughter, Sara Elmore; his son, Wade Elmore; his daughter-in-law, Laura Machala; and his two grandchildren, Leo and Amalia Elmore.<\/p>\n
A memorial will be held at noon on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Bross & Spidle Chapels, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, Missouri. The visitation will be in the same location the hour before the service.<\/p>\n
I had the pleasure of working with Bob in Disaster Recovery with AT&T for many years. He was awesome\u00a0 man to be around smart, friendly, and that awesome dry sense of humor! I missed him when he retired . I am very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He worked for and with me for over 17 years. He always had a smile on his face no matter where we were deployed during a disaster. Bob’s knowledge of the ATT network and ability do anything– building stairs, talking to customers, maintaining the power systems and more–, made him a valuable asset to our Disaster Recovery Team. I know he loved fishing and blacksmithing, but more than that, he often talked about his loving family while I was with him. He will be missed. I had the honor and pleasure of knowing Bob during his career at AT&T. Bob and I worked in Disaster Recovery and I had the pleasure of traveling with Bob around to various Disasters. Bob was a pleasure to work alongside and to share a meal with. His humor and love of what he was doing was broadcasted in his attitude and his warm smile. I want to send my condolences to his Family. Rest in Pease Bob. Mary, Sara, Wade… I will always remember Bob as a mentor.. !! I can only say I will miss him! So sorry for your loss. He was awesome man. Your in our thoughts and prayers. Bob was always quick with a clever joke at the right moment, and was an extremely knowledgeable technician that was always willing to lend a hand. May he rest in peace. I\u2019ve been texting since Christmas and decided in my mind that he wasn\u2019t responding because I kept pestering him about coming to Florida and going fishing. I said in my recent text that you COULD NOT have had a BETTER FRIEND than Bob. EVERYONE who knew him has to feel the same way. You\u2019re in our thoughts and prayers! So many good memories.
