Bonnie Lee Morgan, 94, of Holt, Mo., passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at her home, with her family at her side. Bonnie was born March 26, 1927, in her grandmother’s house in Holt, Mo., to Trigg Ellis and Lorena Hunter Long.<\/p>\nBonnie Lee Morgan, 94, of Holt, Mo., passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at her home, with her family at her side. Bonnie started first grade at Mt. Zion, a one room country schoolhouse north of Plattsburg, Mo., because her mother had the teaching contract there. Bonnie spent most of her elementary years having her mother as her teacher. Her parents eventually moved to North Kansas City where Bonnie graduated from high school in the class of 1944. She attended beauty school with her Mother, and following school they worked together in a beauty shop there in North Kansas City.<\/p>\n
Ninety days after W.W.II had ended, she married Leo Roy Morgan, Signalman 1st class, in the United States Navy, also of Holt, on December 9, 1945. That union was blessed with six children, 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to running the house, Bonnie ran \u201cBonnies Caf\u00e9\u201d, a restaurant in Kearney, Mo., on the corner of 33 and 92 Hwy. for a short time. She also ran a beauty shop for several years out of her home. Bonnie was a good money manager, and assisted many who were needing her financial advice. However, Bonnie was best known for her faith in God. She was a long standing member of the Church of Christ at 505 Elms Blvd., in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Bonnie shared the gospel with all those who would listen, studying the Bible long after she had lost most of her eyesight to Macular degeneration. Her Godly influence impacted the lives of so many over her lifetime, especially her husband, Leo, leading him to the Lord in his later years.<\/p>\n
\u201cBonnie Loved.\u201d A statement that rings true to the many that knew her. Not just her family, but Bonnie genuinely loved her neighbors, friends and the stranger that she might encounter on the street. And in turn, she was loved as well. Leaving us with a legacy worthy of continuing. \u201cLove one another.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bonnie was proceeded in death by her parents, Trigg and Lorena Long; her husband, Leo Roy Morgan; and one grandson, David Trigg Foster.<\/p>\n
She is survived by her six children, Rox Roy Morgan (Johanna), Excelsior Springs, Mo., Ellisa Lynn Foster (Ron), Lawson, Mo., Rex Rey Morgan (Lisa), Excelsior Springs, Mo., Christina Louise McClung (Darrell), Kearney, Mo., Loren Lee Morgan, Holt, Mo., April Marye Peacher (Tom), Lathrop, Mo.; 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.<\/p>\n
Service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday November 30, 2021 at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo.\u00a0 Burial at Muddy Fork Cemetery following the service.<\/p>\n
I have known Bonnie my entire life. Going to church with her and her family, also going to school with her children. Such a great family. Always

\nBonnie was a sweet, gracious woman. Always had a smile on her face. Always laughing.\u00a0 She was a best friend to my mother. She left a welcoming feeling to me and all who knew her. It saddens me to know she is gone, but now in God’s hands. Where she belongs. I will miss her dearly. To her children,\u00a0 God bless you all. You were blessed with a great mother and role model.

I was blessed to call Bonnie Morgan my Aunt. Because she was married to my mother\u2018s brother, our family was very close when we were growing up.\u00a0 I have fond memories of spending holidays and special occasions with Bonnie and the entire family.\u00a0 She always made us feel so comfortable and loved. She was kind and such a gentle soul, positive about everything.\u00a0 Family meant the world to her, and as one cousin said to me just recently, she was truly the glue that kept them all together.\u00a0 She will be truly missed, but never forgotten.

I fondly remember Bonnie as a guiding light since I was a small child. She always had an optimistic, kind spirit about her. I loved her calm demeanor and ability to make you feel at ease \u2014 my deepest sympathy to the Morgan family for their loss. I pray she is with Leo and her family passed and that the Lord will show His grace and comfort on those She left behind.
