Ward Junior Wollard

Ward Junior Wollard passed away December 27, 2021, at the age of 84. He was born on February 11, 1937, in Hardin, MO, to Ward Reed and Glenna Mae (Hawkins) Wollard and was baptized on April 14, 1946, at the Methodist Church of Excelsior Springs, MO.

Ward was the eldest of three siblings. He was raised in Excelsior Springs and graduated high school in 1955. During that time he worked at the family dealership, Wollard’s Used Cars, learning all aspects of a motor.

Ward started in 1959 as a motorcycle mechanic at Yeager’s Cycle Sales in Sedalia, MO, and continued his employment there for 56 years. He achieved many titles including Master Mechanic. He also drag-raced and won many trophies; and, he built engines for racing bikes. At one time, the drag bike he built was the fastest Harley-Davidson on gas in the USA. He was in the Missouri National Guard 305 Division as a surgical technician and owned his own photography studio, Wollard Photography, giving many a bride a memory of a lifetime.

On May 14, 1966, he married Virginia Sue (Hendricks) along with her two children, David and Donnie Steele of Sedalia, MO.

Ward is survived by his sister, Judith “Judy” Mae Orava of Excelsior Springs, MO; and nieces Gina, Susan, Cari, Jill, and Joy; and his fiancé’s daughters, Angel Vanrooyen of Cocoa, FL, and Christa Littlepage of LaMonte, MO.

Ward is preceded in death by his fiancée, Barbara Leaver; his parents; his wife; a brother, Jack Reed Wollard; a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Wollard; and a brother-in-law, Jack Orava.

Memorials can be made to New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery or Parkinson’s Foundation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Sedalia, MO.
